How to Become a Member​

Joining the Haitian Graduate Students and Early Career Professionals Alliance (HGSECPA) is a simple and rewarding process. We welcome individuals who share our mission to unite, empower, and mobilize Haitian graduate students and early career scientists to drive scientific innovation and contribute to the development of Haiti.

To become a member, follow these steps:

  1. Eligibility:

    • You must be a graduate student, early career scientist, or professional of Haitian origin or someone with a strong interest in contributing to the advancement of science in Haiti.
  2. Complete the Membership Application:

    • Fill out our online application form available on the HGSECPA website. This form will collect information about your academic background, professional experience, and areas of interest.
  3. Submit Supporting Documents:

    • Attach relevant documents such as your CV or résumé, and a brief statement of your interest in joining HGSECPA, highlighting how you plan to contribute to our mission.
  4. Membership Review:

    • Once your application is submitted, it will be reviewed by our membership committee. You will be notified of the status of your application within [specified time frame, e.g., 2-3 weeks].
  5. Annual Membership Fee (if applicable):

    • Upon acceptance, you may be required to pay a nominal annual fee to help support our programs, events, and initiatives. Fee details will be provided during the application process.
  6. Welcome and Orientation:

    • After your membership is approved, you will receive a welcome package and be invited to attend an orientation session. You will also gain access to our members-only resources, events, and networking opportunities.

Becoming an external partner of HGSECPA offers a unique opportunity to support our mission of empowering Haitian graduate students and early career scientists. Partners can help by offering resources, expertise, and collaborative opportunities to drive scientific growth and development in Haiti.

Steps to Become an External Partner:

1. Understand Our Mission and Goals

  • HGSECPA is dedicated to uniting and empowering Haitian scientists to foster innovation and contribute to sustainable development in Haiti. Aligning with this mission is essential for partnership.

2. Identify Areas for Collaboration

  • Consider how your organization can contribute. This could include funding, mentoring, providing internship or job opportunities, offering educational resources, or co-hosting events and workshops that benefit HGSECPA members.

3. Submit a Partnership Proposal

Prepare a brief proposal outlining your interest in partnering with HGSECPA. Include details about your organization, how you envision the partnership, and specific ways you can support our mission.

4. Meet with Our Partnership Team

After submitting your proposal, the HGSECPA partnership team will review it and schedule a meeting to discuss potential collaboration. This is an opportunity to refine partnership goals and ensure alignment with our values.

5. Define Partnership Roles and Responsibilities

Work with HGSECPA to establish clear roles, expectations, and deliverables. Outline any financial support, resources, or programs your organization will provide and identify any support HGSECPA can offer in return.
